The Allium jesdianum 'Early Emperor' is a large allium with big pink-purple flower heads supported by an 80cm flower spike. The Early Emperor is an autumn bulb so does best when planted later in the year. The plant will then bloom a few months later from late spring to early summer.
The Allium jesdianum 'Early Emperor' does best when planted about 10cm deep in well-drained, nutrient-rich soil in a sunny area of the garden. Taller alliums like this one can also benefit from shelter on one side to help prevent the tall flower spikes from being blown over.
